NSW: Police recapture prison escapee
A man who escaped from jail in September will appear in court today after police captured
him in Sydney's south.
Police say they arrested the 35 year old man without incident at a house in Brussells
Street, Mascot, around 3.30pm yesterday afternoon, after spotting him riding a motorcycle
in the area.
The man will appear in Waverley local court charged with escaping lawful custody, kidnapping
and possession of firearms.
He escaped with another prisoner from Silverwater Jail on September 19.
The other prisoner was recaptured on the day.
